Evaluation

My teaching evaluation was successful. The chair and I finally had a chance to chat today, and he seemed pleased with what he saw. The one critique he had was about my syllabus not including enough information about the class assignments, but apparently he was supposed to tell me to do that before I started teaching and he didn't, so we agreed on eliminating that from the report he's sending to the dean altogether. I feel sneaky.

He also reiterated, yet again, that if I wanted to stay, I can stay on tenure track after the initial 3 years are over. They already know that they will have room in the budget, and it is completely up to me then. We agreed, as always, to talk about this again in a year or so, as it's too early for me to make up my mind either way.

I'm extremely busy at work right now, and will be until I leave next week. I'm trying desperately to finish revisions on a paper and send it out before I leave. I will also have to bring my student papers with me to NYC and grade them there, sadly, in order to submit the grades on time.

8 more days!

My itinerary bring me first to NYC for a week, and I will only make it to the HL on the 11th. So... see you there in a couple of weeks!
