My first football game! And we won! (which doesn't happen often)
It was all unplanned - as we were sitting around a bonfire at Russ's yard last night with friends, it turned out that a few of our friends have extra tickets for today's game. We made quick plans, and thus found ourselves woken up at 8 AM by Emily and Will, and by 10 we were tailgating with Scott and his people. The game started at 11 and ended at 3:30, after 2 overtimes and an Iowa victory! Yay!
My first game happened to be a very exciting and suspenseful game. I've been watching the Iowa games at home since I moved here, and this one was probably the most exciting one so far. Two overtimes! And we pulled through!
My football discoveries:
1. Toilets - in every other public event I've ever attended with more than 50,000 people, there are always LONG lines for the women's and non-existing lines for the men's. In football, apparently, it's the reverse. Finally, the tables have turned!
2. Tailgating - now I understand. All you had to do was tell me that there is no alcohol sold on premises, and that they don't allow anyone to bring any liquids into the stadium. My god. That makes absolutely no sense. And tailgating suddenly makes so much more sense.
3. Yellow - as the color of my elementary school's school uniform was yellow, I have been avoiding it as an adult - until now. Yes, I finally own a yellow t-shirt. Who knew.
The win:

Scott's victory dance:
The rest is here.
